Strange Joy - Edward Nesbit

Strange Joy by Edward Nesbit was commissioned by East London Music Group and premiered at Queen Mary University of London on 24th November 2015. the piece sets three poems by Isaac Rosenberg for narrator and ensemble.

School Partnership Programme

East london music group visited Edinburgh primary school in April 2022, as part of an ongoing school partnership programme, giving special performances to the children to mark the beginning of our new school partnership programme.

The Soldier's Tale

The Soldier’s Tale is a witty and sardonic Faustian story of a young soldier who gives his violin to the Devil in exchange for untold wealth. This new adaptation, directed by Joseph Hardy, features recent graduates of Drama Studio London and London Contemporary Dance School, as well as some of the most outstanding young professional musicians in London.

Frida Project

ELMG performed the world premiere of FRIDA by Paul Edlin - a monodrama for mezzo-soprano and chamber ensemble set to Frida Kahlo’s own words at Oxford Festival of the Arts. Endorsed by the Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo Museums Trust.

Waltham Forest schools' project

ELMG took part in the enormous finale performance of the Waltham Forest Music Festival at Walthamstow Assembly Hall. 600 young singers and instrumentalists took part in the concert and the orchestra included over a hundred children playing flutes, clarinets, recorders, cellos, and guitars, all giving their first ever public performances alongside ELMG musicians.
